My Time This Weekend! (Megaplex 2024!)

This past weekend, I went to Orlando for the annual furry convention Megaplex! You all know this; I talked about it in my last post!

It was a really good time, and there were so many furries that came out to mingle, fursuit, and just overall enjoy the fandom they love so much.

I attended the convention for the afternoon half of friday, and most of Saturday. And there was so much that I was able to do. I had a lot of friends there and it was really easy to get swept away and distracted by all of the pretty suits and cool cosplays!

Here’s a list of some of the things I was able to do at the con.

• I handed out ten boxes of cookies to some of my friends. (I have heard that I did a pretty decent job with them, which makes me more excited to bake more for next year!)
• I also visited briefly with all of my cookie recipients! It was really cool to see and catch up with all of them. There was Nighteyes and his fiancée, Howl and Weasel, a suiter by the name of Prym, Pathos, Meek, Schande, Trash (who had a table in Artist Alley), and Holly. ^^
• I was able to go to a writing panel where my friend, NightEyes DaySpring, talked about writing novels and what it all entails.
• I met and played pokemon with fellow furry author, Schande (who is featured in the Night of the Howling Dead anthology I edited!)
• Along with seeing my previously mentioned friends, I was surprised to meet my boss/head editor from my more recent time at THP! I met Cedric! Seriously! This was a highlight of the weekend for me, because I have worked with him for so long and he’s just always been a positive and supporting influence in my writing journey!
• I spent a good deal of time with my bat friend, Holly! I was able to act as a fursuit handler at one point and help her get to a bat-suiter meet up! That was really fun, and OMG her suit is adorable!
• On Friday night, I tried Portillo’s for the first time. I had a spicy chicken sandwich!
• I gave quite a few headpats to NightEyes’s table manager, Fadel. (Also a highlight of the weekend.)
• I played a game of Slay the Spire with my friend Meek, and some other furries! They were all very nice and the game was super fun! It made me want to pick up a copy of it for myself.
• I got to buy some cool books and clothing items from some of the Dealers in the Dealers Den!
• I stopped by the tables where I knew people just to chat. Seriously, I must have walked up to Nighteyes’s table like ten times on Saturday. :3 I’m nothing if not varying degrees of silliness.
• On Saturday evening, I went to Disney Springs with NightEyes and some other furries, Demo and Alpha, and it was a lot of fun to hangout and talk. I… did lose my wallet in Disney Springs! <.< It’s okay, though! I did end up getting it back and it was all okay! Definitely made for an exciting, and I do use that word loosely, half-hour. The night ended pretty well, and I got to have lemon sorbet!

All of this, and I can’t even begin to describe how awesome the fursuits were! There were so many wonderful fursuits and costumes! I wish I had been able to take a lot more pictures! But this is okay!
