Question Time! :D

It’s my favorite time! Question time! I like question time. ^-^ It gives me things to talk about and think over!

I am going to answer these to the best of my ability. But a lot of my answers may seem a bit off, or incomplete, as I haven’t thought about these questions before and may not know how to answer them.

What furry book have you read that you feel deserves more attention?

Let me start this off by saying that I think most furry books, even the ones that are popular in fandom standards, deserve a lot of attention. A favorite of mine that I wish I saw more furries talking about, is Aces High by Daniel J. Phillips. This was one of the first books I read as an editor, and I absolutely loved it. It has the vibes of a classic western with a supernatural air to it, as a murdered train robber goes on a revenger tour of sorts against his former crew to be able to truly live again. It’s the first of a series. I really enjoyed this book, and I cannot wait for the rest of the series!

Suppose you win the lottery or have some windfall inheritance and had 10 million dollars. What would you do with it?

Well, first thing I’d do is move out of my house. Buy a nice apartment/house for my partner and I to live in. Then I’d use some of the money to help my partner get from where they live, to the new place. I’d probably use a bit to decorate, but other than that I’d use it to support other writers and artists. Patreon accounts, commissions, and the like. 10 million dollars is so much money though. I don’t know what I’d do with the rest of it.

What writers would you consider influences, and what did you get from them? What influences would we not necessarily expect?

I grew up reading Rick Riordan, James Dashner, Suzanne Collins. Lots of YA authors. They were huge influences in my beginnings of being a writer. With all that YA action stuff. It’s not as reflected in the writing I have published now. But I used to want to write more action-y drama-filled books series (Spelling? Oops!) None of those will see the light of day. Not yet. They’re not ready. I think the one thing I have picked up from those authors, is the likeable characters with noticeable flaws? I am afraid my answer is a little underwhelming for this half, and I am sorry I don’t have a better one.

And unexpected influences? My influences seem to come more from tv shows and films. Like character archtypes and personalities for certain characters in the stories come from characters and elements of some of my favorite shows.

What authors do you look up to? What works of theirs do you admire the most?

I look up to a bunch of furry authors. NightEyes Dayspring, Utunu, Ian M. Keller. They’re all established writers who’ve been working on their craft for a while and they’ve got so much to show for it. Ian has a wide array of written fiction that covers a wide range. Mystery, Romance, Fantasy, DRAGONS! I love being able to read their work. My favorite work by them is their Sam Digger collection! NightEyes and Utunu are friends from DnD who have both recently released multiple works. Seriously! Both of them have done so much and worked so hard for the works they’ve released. It’s really cool to see how much people love their books and characters. And I want to be able to inspire that kind of feeling in the folks that read my stories. My favorite works of theirs are “Scars of the Golden Dancer” (NightEyes) and “Rafts” (Utunu.)

Are there any genres you’d like to write about which you have not yet tackled?

Yeah! I have a mystery novel I’d like to finish soon. It’s a not-so-social high school novelist who is thrown in the middle of a murder when his best friend’s sister is murdered. Very Hallmark. Very mysterious.

Other than that, I am not sure I am looking to do any other genres right now? I don’t think so at least.

Who is your favourite horror movie star?

Have you seen any of Nicolas Cage’s horror films lately? The man is knocking things out of the park. My current favorite with him is Willy’s Wonderland. It’s like… got some weird dialgoue and plot choices. But the movie is so much fun! Nicolas Cage doesn’t say a word the whole movie. He just dishes out animatronic ass-whoopings, plays pinball, and drinks punch! Some good shit.

I also love Melissa Barrera. The Scream franchises’s newest and possibly best final girl! She’s been doing so much stuff lately and I am so happy with all the cool stuff she’s been able to do lately.

I am so sorry this post is so small! I’m trying to do better with coming up with things to post. If anyone has ideas about things I can share, I am open to them.

Thanks for reading.
