Update on Chee! (MEGAPLEX EDITION?)

Hi, all! I hope everyone is having an amazing September so far!

I’m sorry I didn’t make any posts this last week. As some of you already know, I spent the last weekend of August in Orlando and attended Megaplex: House of Pounce. I had the privilege to be at the same con as over TEN THOUSAND other furries! So many furries under the same roof at any given time! And so many queer folks! It really warmed my little chee heart to see everyone just living their best lives.

Despite some minor stomach problems that took up quite a bit of time, I can safely say this was one of the best years I personally have experienced with Megaplex.

I also got to meet and interact with so many wonderful and talented people! (If you haven’t seen the pictures, they are all on bluesky/Instagram.) And it really made me wish I was able to spend time with more people that are like me.

Some highlights of the con!

• Got to see a whole lot of friends! NightEyes Dayspring and his fiance Rozz, Ruy, Jennica, Trash, Happy, Tekky, Renard, Howl and Weasel, Burr Meek! I also got to see some former students from my substitute days while I was working at NightEyes’s table.
• Met some cool new folks, mostly through working in the Dealer’s Den. Like Aloe and SimpleNick, who’s tables were right next to and across from NightEyes’s.
• I got to be a table assistant for NightEyes! It was a lot of fun, of course!
• Dealer’s Den had so many cool wares for sale! I picked up quite a few fun things, including some new books! 😀
• I got to stay for almost the entire weekend for the first time.
• We went to this cool Cuban place down the street from the main hotel. Very good food. Don’t remember the last time I had Cuban food.
• Got to play MTG with furries, which was wild and fun, if not full of silly hijinks. (Like for real, one game was lost because I kept a horrible hand. One land for five straight turns.)

All in all, a great weekend. Really wishing that I could have stayed longer.

In the week after, I have mainly been either working or writing stories. I have had such a positive burst of energy and I am riding that shit for as long as I can!
