Merry Late Christmas, everyone! I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful holiday season! Aside from the upstairs bathroom, the housework has been pretty
At the time of writing this, there are four or five (yes, I had to count on my fingers) days left of 2025. As I said before, I want to be optimistic about the new coming year, but with everything going on… I am wary.
That being said, I do have aspirations for personal growth, just like I did last year. My goals for 2026 are a bit more varied in nature, but I also am not doing this yet.
Because I still haven’t checked in on my goals for 2025 and measured what I did right as far as succeeding in completing my goals. So, below, I have my goals listed out, and I will kind of give an indicator of where I am on that.
Goals:
- Finish my first draft of my “Phantom Janitor” rewrite! – Still in the same place I was in August. Things with the company I work for (not the publishing company, the corporation) have been rough, and my mind has been mostly on shorter works lately. However! However! I do still have plans to finish this within the next year or two, and I have a friend willing to help me publish it again! Stay tuned!
- Finish the first draft of “Campfire Flames.” – Just been planning this one. I haven’t done a lot on this project to date, aside from the Writing Coach cards. Which is okay. Hopefully I will work more on this soon.
- Finish at least five seperate short stories! – I have started four short stories and finished two drafts of one of them. Working on a third draft of that one. But my main focus this month has been on the story I will be writing for my Frat Boy Horror Anthology!
- Visit Indiana (Completed!) – I did this! 😀 I had so much fun up there! I am planning on going back at some point soon. SUCCESS!
- Go to TWO Furry conventions! – I did not go to two cons this year. However, I did get to go to three furry events! I attended the Megaplex Picnic, CHOMP, and Megaplex itself! Even though I didn’t get the two cons I wanted, I still count this as a success!
- Learn to make pie crust from scratch – This one has been a longtime goal of mine. Store bought crusts are probably easier, but I want to learn nonetheless!
- Shave down my To Be Read pile! – Vinnie still needs to read all of these books that they have on their shelves! >.> This has not changed. Better luck next year, I do hope to read more books.
- Make more time for games and friends. – Weekly pokemon is still mostly happening, and I have been playing Magic at least twice a month. So this is a SUCCESS!
- Move out of my parents’ house. – Sadly, this is not happening just yet. But I am still looking and waiting for the right time.
- Go to the gym at least five times a month. – I did it! I started going back to the gym with my friend from work! My goal has been working my upper body, and I am happy to report that this lil chee has more muscley arms and shoulders! My calves are also poppin! :3 SUCCESS!
- Learn to make one new dish a month! – So I think I did this once. Earlier in the year I made Caldo Verde for the first time. It was delicious. I do think I need to do more cooking/baking.
- Try to write a screenplay – This interest lasted maybe less than a month. I had issues with certain aspects of script writing. I don’t want to write this off completely, obviously! I just think I need to do more research on scripting and things like that.
- Do More Editing! – This job is going really well. My editing for Fenris Press has been an easy highlight of my life over the past year. I hope to do more editing in the next coming year! 😀 SUCCESS!
All in all, this is still a success! And even if I didn’t get to accomplish all of my goals, I still got to do some amazing and fun things. I got my nails done for the first time. A very pretty shade of lavender. I tried sushi and boba for the first time. (I loved the boba. However, I need to find dairy free alternatives.) I got to table with Nighteyes and help him sell books. (Twice!) There are other things too! And I will remember them eventually!
Thank you all so much for sticking with me this year, whether you’re an active reader or not. This year would not have been as good without the support of the wonderful people of this little slice of online life I have collected. You all make life worth continuing, and I can’t wait to keep writing and sharing with all of you.
❤ – Scribbles/Vinnie
